Alley Spring - Visual Journey...Missouri |
Alley Spring Mill was built over 100 years ago to process corn and wheat into
flour. The spring waters powered a turbine which ground the grain with
rollers. |
| The flow of water in the spring averages 81 million gallons per day.
The spring basin shown here is 32 feet deep. |
There are hiking trails that go around the mill area. Shown
here is a bridge the goes over the turquoise spring waters. The water is
very clear is some areas and you can see a variety of vegetation growing in the
water. |
| Part of the hiking trail follows the spring waters. There are
many scenic areas especially in the fall when the trees are colorful. |
There are also some small caves along the trail to explore.
Alley Spring Mill is located six miles west of Eminence, Missouri on Hwy. 106. |
