Great Blue Herons can be seen here during the spring and fall. Herons have elongated necks, legs, and bills. Herons fly with their necks bent in an S shape, with their heads supported between their shoulders. Their wingspan is six feet and is a beautiful sight as they fly low above the water.  Blue Herons can frequently be seen at Binder Lake.  This is a photo of a Blue Heron at night in the light of the moon.
The tranquil lake can be quite beautiful especially in the fall when the autumn colors of the trees reflect on the calm waters of Binder Lake. A relaxing place to fish, walk, birdwatch, or have a picnic.
