Grand Gulf State Park - Visual Journey...Missouri |
|
|
Grand Gulf State Park is located in Thayer, Missouri and is often referred to as
Missouri's "Little Grand Canyon". |
| The canyon is the result of a collapsed dolomite cave system.
The water from here will go nine miles and end up at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas
one to four days later. |
|
|
|
There are trails and boardwalks that take you down into the canyon
area. Shown here is a waterfall that was present after a recent heavy
rain. |
| The walls of the canyon are 130 feet high and it is nearly one mile
long. The Grand Gulf park covers 322 acres and has picnic tables and
several hiking trails. |
