Hodgson Mill - Visual Journey...Missouri |
Hodgson Mill has been called the most photographed mill in Missouri. It is
located in Ozark County, Missouri near Sycamore. |
| The Hodgson Mill Spring comes from a cave behind the mill and then
flows under the mill. |
The spring has a flow of 23 million gallons per day and stays a
constant 58 degrees year round. |
| The mill was built in 1861 and then rebuilt in 1897. A picture
of this mill is used on the front of bags of flour sold nationally. The
flour which was once ground here is now ground in a modern facility. |

The waterwheel shown here is for show only as the mill used turbines
to grind meal. Hodgson Mill is located 17 miles northeast of Gainesville
on Hwy. 181 near Sycamore. |
